STARTING JUNE 18, 2007
PERMIT FEES FOR CONSTRUCTION WILL INCREASE.
CONSTRUCTION
COSTS WILL BE CALCULATED
ON A SET SQUARE FOOTAGE BASIS.
$75 PER SQ FT
FOR HOMES UP TO 1,599 SQ FT
$90 PER SQ FT FOR HOMES 1,600 SQ FT AND ABOVE
FOR EXAMPLE:
CONSTRUCTION COSTS FOR A 1700 sq ft HOME WOULD BE CALCULATED:
$90 X 1700 sq ft = $153,000
PERMIT FEES WILL BE BASED ON THE CALCULATED CONSTRUCTION COST OF $153,000 NOT THE AMOUNT ESTIMATED BY THE BUILDER.
New procedures for water reconnects and fire hydrant meters
beginning on April 2, 2007.
The water meter reconnect fees are as follows
3/4 water meters - $100.00
1 water meters - $150.00
2 or above check with the water supervisor
The fees for setting a fire hydrant meter are as follows
Construction Sites
$200 to set a fire hydrant meter for a construction project
The fire hydrant meter will only be installed for 2 month, by this time the permanent water meter should be installed
The fire hydrant meter can stay connected longer for road construction projects.
Special Events
$200 to set a fire hydrant meter for a special event
We do have a limited supply of fire hydrant meters. They will be installed on a first come basis.
Friendly Reminder
Deadlines for licensure for residential and general contractors have been extended.
The NEW deadlines are as follows:
01/01/2006-12/31/2006: Examination exemption applications are being accepted
01/01/2007: Reciprocity applications and applications for licensure by examination to be accepted
01/01/2008: Licensure will be required for the practice of contracting in Georgia
